About This Event
Being on Earth brings together paintings by Clare Scott and Monica Hokeilen exploring shared experiences, fleeting moments, landscapes, figures, and the wildlife of the Rocky Mountain region. Scott’s work considers brevity and the essential beauty found in particular seasons, changing light, and human connection, while Hokeilen uses simplified, nearly abstract surroundings to invite viewers into the lived experience of animals such as coyotes, pronghorn, bison, elk, moose, and deer. The exhibition runs at Sync Gallery from September 17 through October 11, with an opening reception on Friday, September 18, from 5–9pm.
