About This Event
Being on Earth brings together paintings by Clare Scott and Monica Hokeilen exploring shared human experience, fleeting moments in the landscape, and humanity’s connection to the natural world. Scott’s landscapes and figures focus on essential moments of light, season, emotion, and passage through time, while Hokeilen’s simplified, nearly abstract paintings invite viewers to experience Rocky Mountain wildlife—including coyotes, pronghorn, bison, elk, moose, and deer—as fellow inhabitants of Colorado. The exhibition opens with a reception on Friday, September 18, from 5 to 9 PM at Sync Gallery in Denver’s Santa Fe Arts District.
