This Lamont School of Music concert was scheduled as an all-American program celebrating America’s 250th birthday, featuring standout performers from the University of Denver. The program included Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, a world premiere wind ensemble arrangement of Brian Neal’s Emmy Award-winning Concertante, James David’s Atomic Time, and Nico Muhly’s bassoon concerto Reliable Sources with Martin Kuuskmann. It was to conclude with A Lincoln Portrait narrated by Sahara Byrne, Dean of the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, but the performance was cancelled due to inclement weather and will not be rescheduled.
