Civic Center SPARKLES is the Conservancy’s horticulture volunteer program created to help maintain Civic Center Park’s stunning flower and produce beds, ensuring the park stays green and beautiful. Since 2021, SPARKLES has provided weekly care where community members can contribute to a vibrant, accessible urban oasis for all to enjoy. The program will continue volunteerism efforts during Civic Center Park renovations with horticulture support for Denver Parks & Recreation in various parks around downtown. Horticulture care includes planting flowers, mulching, debris clean up, native bed care, and weeding. Civic Center Conservancy is also partnering with Volunteers of Outdoor Colorado to provide two public volunteering days in 2026, with signups planned for July 7 at Gates Crescent Natural Area and September 15 at Centennial Park through VOC’s website (coming soon). Registration for 2026 volunteering opportunities will begin in early May.
