About This Event
2nd Saturdays at CSU Spur, presented by Canvas Credit Union, are free and open to the public for lots of family-friendly programming. CSU Spur hosts themed, hands-on days on the second Saturday of each month. For March 14, the theme is "Girls and Science" in partnership with Girls, Inc. and CBS. From 10 a.m.–2 p.m., visitors can pick up a free animal-themed STEM activity box* with science projects, features of local women in STEM, book recommendations, and more. Each 2nd Saturday features a variety of activities, including: • Cooking activities in the CSU Spur kitchen. • Watching veterinarians at work. • Observing horses assisting with human therapies. • Engaging with scientists at work. • Playing in the mock kitchen, mock vet clinic, and mock lab. • Getting your hands dirty in the stream table. • Exploring the world of virtual reality (ages 9+). • Strolling through the rooftop greenhouse. • And more!
