Civic Center STARGAZE Volunteer Shift

About This Event

Civic Center Conservancy is recruiting volunteers to support the STARGAZE event series at Civic Center Park. This fun and educational stargazing event invites the public to view the night sky with support from astronomers. Volunteers will help greet and check-in guests, assist astronomers, answer general questions about Civic Center Park and the Conservancy, and then have an opportunity to participate in the stargazing themselves. Volunteers receive a brief training session before the event begins and will be outside for the entire duration of their shift. The event occurs in Denver’s Civic Center Park, a public park operated by Denver Department of Parks & Recreation, in a program sponsored by the Civic Center Conservancy. Volunteer Requirements: - Must be at least 18 years old - Comfortable standing for extended periods of time - May involve moving event elements such as chairs and folding tables - Positive attitude and an interest in talking with visitors - Weather-appropriate attire, as the entire event is outdoors in the park Liability & Media Release: Volunteers must agree to a Waiver, Release of Claims & Consent for Photo/Video Use, acknowledging that activities in the park may involve risks of physical injury, illness, disease, or property loss or damage. Volunteers expressly assume these risks and waive and release claims against Civic Center Conservancy, its partners, Denver Parks & Recreation, and the City and County of Denver and their officials, employees, and agents. Volunteers also consent to the use of their photo and/or video for Civic Center Conservancy advertising, marketing, public information, and promotional purposes, with no expectation of compensation, and waive any related claims. This listing is specifically for volunteering at STARGAZE, not general attendance at the event.
