Cripple Creek Ice Festival 2026

About This Event

The Cripple Creek Ice Festival is a multi-day winter celebration in downtown Cripple Creek, featuring professional ice carvers, head‑to‑head speed carving contests, vendors, food trucks, a bar, family‑friendly performances, music, and a heated tent. The 2026 festival runs from February 14 to 22. Carvers work on sculptures throughout the entire event, with most activities, vendors, and competitions concentrated on the weekends (Feb 14–16 and Feb 21–22), including President’s Day. The head‑to‑head carving challenges return on Saturdays at 13:30 and 15:00, with carvers competing in a stadium setting for a $1,000 cash prize each weekend. Carving teams also vie for the People’s Choice Award for a large cash prize, and visitors are encouraged to cast their votes. The festival is free and open to the general public. Vendors and activities operate between 10:00 and 17:00, weather permitting, and ice sculptures are showcased daily between 10:00 and 18:00. Bennett Avenue will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic on February 10 and 17 for ice delivery.
