We are delighted to welcome saxophonist and bandleader David Bernot back to the Nocturne stage leading an all-star lineup including Andrew Janak - Tenor Sax, Eric Gunnison - Piano, Domi Edson - Bass, Bobby Weins - Drums. This top-shelf collection of musicians will be honoring the musical legacy of Gene Ammons and Sonny Stitt, also known as the "Boss Tenors". Ammons and Stitt had a profound influence on the jazz art form during the 1960s and they continue to inspire musicians to this day. Originally from Arizona, David Bernot moved to Denver in 2012, and has since become a versatile performer and high demand player across a range of musical styles. Bernot regularly travels to perform and present at national music conferences, including those hosted by the Jazz Education Network and the North American Saxophone Alliance. Bernot has earned multiple awards for his saxophone performance and compositions, with notable international recognition in 2022 when he won 1st place at the Carinthian International Jazz Saxophone Competition in Austria. In partnership with Nocturne Productions, the David Bernot Quintet released its debut album, Never-Ending Cycle, in 2022. This album featuring all original compositions by Bernot, was very well received in both local and national jazz communities.
