The Buffalo Herd Nature Preserve is located about 20 miles west of Denver at I-70 Exit 254 near Golden, Colorado. The City of Denver maintains a herd of buffalo in a natural setting; these buffalo are direct descendants of the last wild buffalo herd left in America. Visitors can view the herd from roadside viewing areas and enjoy excellent photo opportunities. Winter visiting hours are listed as November through April 30, Tuesday through Sunday, 09:00–16:00, and the preserve is closed on Christmas Day. The listing is primarily an attraction page rather than a dated one-time event; hours apply throughout the winter season each year. Amenities: General amenity information is limited on this page, but the preserve offers natural viewing of the herd in an open setting just off Interstate 70 at Exit 254.
