CinemaQ Film Festival

About This Event

CinemaQ is Denver’s only LGBTQ+ film festival, celebrating the community’s vibrant and diverse stories through a curated selection of films, panels, discussions, and iconic events. The festival showcases queer cinema from around the world and locally, creating space for LGBTQ+ filmmakers, audiences, and allies to come together, see themselves represented on screen, and engage in conversation. The page notes that the 2025 festival was one of the best yet and highlights an ongoing track called Black Lives Queerly (BLQ), created in partnership with Black Pride Colorado, which focuses on Black queer stories and ensuring that all folks in the community have the opportunity to see themselves and come together to celebrate, watch, and discuss. The 2026 edition will continue the tradition of films, panels, and special events at Denver Film’s Sie FilmCenter and possibly other Denver Film venues. Support opportunities connected to the festival include sponsorships (contact Christina at christina@denverfilm.org), volunteering (registration via Shiftboard or contact Seth at seth@denverfilm.org), and Friends of CinemaQ (supporting the festival directly, contact Amy at amy@denverfilm.org). The festival is presented by Denver Film. This listing page is primarily a festival overview; individual screenings, panels, and specific event times are not yet listed here and will be available through the Eventive schedule and festival program as the dates approach.
