Denver Union Station Digital Puzzle

About This Event

An online jigsaw puzzle experience featuring a photo of Denver Union Station, an iconic 1914 Beaux-Arts train station in the heart of downtown Denver. The station is now home to 10 chef-owned restaurants, bars, boutiques and the 112-room Crawford Hotel, and serves as the terminal for the University of Colorado A Line train between Denver International Airport and downtown. The digital puzzle is powered by Jigsaw Explorer and can be played in a web browser on phone, tablet, or desktop. Players can choose the number of puzzle pieces to adjust difficulty (9–144 pieces), drag and drop pieces to complete the image, and optionally enable rotation, capture-and-release for moving multiple pieces, edges-only mode, a timer, and different theme colors. Multiplayer is supported via a special game link that can be shared with friends so they can join the same puzzle and compete. Puzzles in progress are automatically saved in the browser (with cookies enabled), allowing players to return later by reopening the same puzzle on the Jigsaw Explorer website. The interface includes tools such as help, restart, full-screen view, and keyboard shortcuts (e.g., b to show the box cover, c for capture mode, r to rearrange loose pieces, t to change theme color, Esc to dismiss messages). Troubleshooting tips are provided for viewing the full image, adjusting difficulty by changing piece count, and fixing fuzzy pieces by adjusting browser zoom. The puzzle experience is part of VISIT DENVER’s Denver Digital Puzzles series and showcases Denver Union Station’s sustainability features, including LEED-Gold certification for recycled materials, increased ventilation, natural light and a green cleaning policy in the lower-level bus concourse.
