There are so many great hikes in the Denver area, how can you choose? Let a local do the work—on this guided tour, you’ll get whisked off to the mountains, where you’ll hike at your comfort level (snacks and breaks as needed), learn about the flora and fauna of the Rockies, and get incredible bird’s-eye photos of Colorado. Simply put, you'll get more out of your time spent in the mountains. This small-group hiking experience (max 14 travelers, typically much smaller) starts at Nest at Nurture in Denver. You’ll carpool from there toward the foothills and into the Rocky Mountains. Along the drive you’ll pass notable Denver and foothills landmarks including Meow Wolf’s Convergence Station, Empower Field at Mile High, the historic town of Morrison, Dinosaur Ridge, Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre, and Lair O’ the Bear Park. Your guide will point out sights and share information along the way. At the chosen trail in the Rocky Mountains, you’ll hike for a few hours at a relaxed, beginner-friendly pace with breaks as needed. Snacks are provided, and winter gear is available during the winter season. You’ll learn about local rocks, trees, plants, and wildlife, and have plenty of time for photos. From the viewpoint, you’ll enjoy sweeping vistas of Mount Blue Sky (formerly Mt. Evans, 14,155 ft), Mount Bierstadt (14,065 ft), Evergreen, and the small town of Kittredge. After the hike, there is an option to return to the Nest at Nurture café for lunch. The tour is suitable for most travelers (ages 0–100) who are comfortable with a 4‑hour outdoor activity at altitude; it is not recommended for those with heart problems or other serious medical conditions.
