STARGAZE IS BACK! Join Civic Center Conservancy and AstroTours on the Great Lawn in Civic Center Park for a celestial journey right in the heart of the city. Accessible to all ages, attendees are invited to learn from skilled astronomers about the wonders of the cosmos, constellations and their folklore, and observe the moon and other celestial bodies through high powered telescopes. Enjoy tasty food and beverages available for purchase from a local food truck to round out an enchanting evening that promises an “out of this world” experience. Food Truck – Karun Cafe Star-cast: For this month’s event, visitors will be able to catch a glimpse of some of the brighter planets like Saturn and Jupiter, as well as see the surface of the moon, which will be in its Waxing Gibbous phase. This time of year, the Pleiades or Seven Sisters star cluster is another spectacular sight that will also be in view. For later sessions, there is also the chance to catch sights of the Orion Nebula. Ticket information: All attendees 5 years and older must purchase a ticket. All children 12 and under require adult supervision (suggested minimum ratio of 2 kids : 1 adult). These guidelines are in place to help keep the event safe and fun for everyone.
